Help with your proposals
SASVic invited proposals on addressing sexual violence in Victoria. If selected by the Victim Survivor Community Priorities Panel, the chosen proposal will be advocated for by SASVic in the lead up to the 2026 Victorian state election.
Sexual violence: What do we need to ask the Government to do differently?
During the submission period, contributors were asked the questions below to help explain and develop their proposal ideas.
- What is your proposal? (1–2 sentences; a basic summary; picture the Premier standing in front of you asking what you think the Government should do.)
- What is your reason for proposing this? (3–5 paragraphs; helping people understand how you came to form this view; where appropriate, personal stories were welcome.)
- Can you offer any supporting evidence? (This could be based on lived experience, examples from outside Victoria, or statistics supporting the proposal and reasoning. Contributors were not required to disclose personal experiences.)
- Do you want people to consider any other sources or reading? (Links to articles, reports, or stories that informed the proposal could be included for further context.)
Our discussion paper includes background information, facts and figures relevant to preventing, responding to and ending sexual violence in Victoria. This paper was provided to help contributors develop and support their proposals.
Proposal submissions closed on Thursday 28 May 2026, SASVic would like to thank everyone who contributed a proposal.
A note from SASVic
SASVic represents services that provide counselling support to victim survivors, but SASVic staff are not qualified to offer therapeutic support. We encourage people who wish to submit an idea, and who feel they need to, to pre-prepare your own support, including through family and friends.
