Frequently Asked Questions

Why is SASVic launching YourSay?

SASVic is launching YourSay because we know that victim survivor and community perspectives are key to effective action on preventing, responding to and ending sexual violence in Victoria. We believe victim survivors should have the right to inform the systems that impact them and YourSay and the Victim Survivor Community Priorities Panel represents one way in which SASVic is seeking to promote this right.

How long do I have to submit my proposal?

YourSay will be open for community input from Monday 13 October 2025 until Sunday 23 November 2025.

What will happen to my proposal once it is submitted?

The Victim Survivor Community Priorities Panel will consider the submitted proposals and shortlist approximately 10 proposals for deliberation by the panel. The Panel will meet three times to reach a consensus on selecting one of the proposed proposals, to present to SASVic.

SASVic commits in advance to advocate on the chosen initiative in the lead up to the 2026 Victorian state election.

I submitted my proposal or comment but it has not appeared online yet. Has something gone wrong?

When you submit your proposal or comment on a proposal, it will not appear online automatically. All submitted proposals and comments are subject to moderation and will be published once reviewed. If your proposal or comment has not been published within 24 hours, you can contact yoursay@sasvic.org.au

When will I find out if my proposal was chosen?

SASVic will announce the chosen proposal on Monday 30 March 2026.

Will I or can I find out why my proposal wasn’t chosen?

The Victim Survivor Community Priorities Panel will not be contacting submitters to inform them of why their proposal was not chosen, because this is beyond the resourcing of this initiative. However, to discuss the process, you can contact yoursay@sasvic.org.au. We will advise you on whether we are able to provide you with specific feedback on why your proposal was not shortlisted or chosen by the panel.
